The night proved eventful in one excellent way. Three quarters into the evenings endeavors I noticed Nick talking to a pretty blonde girl who, if I heard right.. "yes I definitely heard an accent!" She had an English accent and so did the guy sitting on the couch across the room, oh god yes. After lengthy conversations about ways of saying certain phrases and all of the typical topics one would first think of when meeting foreigners, the idea was proposed of having a "Canada Day."
All Canadian things wrapped in beavers fur and one glorious day.
I was dog-sitting for my cousin and so when the day of Canada came I wasnt able to do the pancake breakfast or shopping at Hudson's Bay but they came back to ours (ENGLISH TERMS INITIATE) to watch the NHL All-Star game. Canadian as all hell, eh?
Afterwords we taped up the sticks and laced the skates and headed to a nearby outdoor rink for some shinny with strangers including a grandpa, father, and his 6 year old son. The perfect ending, really.
Nathan (English guy) strung together a pretty little video. It's about 1 minute and a bit. Very lovely and features a big ol' slappy by yours truly.
This weekend Nathan came to my door (he just lives down the hallway (like everyone else I talk to it seems)) to propose going to the Burton Open half-pipe competition that was going on at the C.O.P.
I dont care much for snowboarding, but hell yes I'll go, especially because it was free.
My footwear was all kinds of inappropriate for standing on the side of a half-pipe. Semi-formal dressy shoes in quater foot of snow. Mega sad.
I highlight the miracle of hot paws in this one.
This is the best run of the night.
It was a damned good time and I'm excited to have these new friends who are really on a bit of a time limit. It makes me feels like I should be out showing them stuff which obviously results in myself getting out more. WIN WIN.
