This room definitely feels like a prison now.
All of the posters off the walls and with most of my belongings out in the living room awaiting transportation, there's nothing but off-white walls watching me sleep. It's shitty.
My schedule for the next 2 days before leaving Calgary (perhaps for good, more on that later) is as follows
Friday AM:
Jodi Wagner bringing me some boxes and taking some of the ones that are going home to make the load lighter for James.
Friday Afternoon:
Taking back wireless modem and cable box to Shaw. Also getting a black portfolio case
SIDENOTE
I know I make a lot of people jealous by talking about not having finals but finishing the design portfolio was as hard as anything my friends go through... I promise.
Friday PM:
A good friend coming to get said portfolio for safe keeping until it is called upon by the judgement pannel at ACAD.
Saturday AM:
Moving things staying in Calgary to my uncle's in the south.
Saturday Afternoon:
Arrival of James and Kylie. The final touches on cleaning and getting the last of my load into his blessed truck.
Saturday PM:
Hopefully just finding a nice pub and toasting the end of a wash-out year with familiar faces and a glass of whisky.
I need my people right now.
Soon.

Pokemon.. You've Changed
First thing's first. Shout-outs to Devin New who reminded me I have a blog.
Hope you like rants!
I have some choice words for Pokemon (the show not the games).
I've watched the new Pokemon Black and White series a fair few times this year and I just have a couple things to say.
People bitching about Pokemon is as repetitive as waking up so I'll keep it short.
The first season of the show, and hell, even the second season, were about Ash and company traversing KANTO and JOHTO challenging other trainers and getting into Rocket-based shenanigans along the way. To me the Rocket stuff was always kind of dull because I enjoyed seeing ours Heroes play out scenarios I was familiar with from playing Pokemon Blue (fuck Red). Seeing them challenge gym leaders and new Pokemon and what-not was interesting and relatable even as a child peering over the top of my Gameboy to watch the show.
Now, however, the show has taken some strange turn where in every episode there is some kind of side tracking cluster fuck of basic kid's show crap. In the episode that I'm watching right now, they find some stupid pokemon while exploring an amusement park and think "OH GOD A POKEMON WE BETTER FIND IT'S TRAINER IT MUST BE LOST :O :O !!!!"
Maybe the trainer told it to wait there for her, fucking idiots.
But the last two I have watched have been like this as well and frankly, it's boring as all hell.
Ash from the first season, while still being a bitch, probably would have been like "Wow a new pokemon," consulted the Pokedex, and then captured/fought it. Or at LEAST returned it to the trainer in exchange for a gym battle challenge... Something like that.
But no, this whole series has been:
- Let's return this lost pokemon
- Let's help this pokemon in need of finding it's sibling/friend
- Let's play with our balls (haha)
- Let's find a special ingredient for our big lunch because we're so tired from doing nothing
That being said, Ash already lost the Pokemon League in the second season so... he probably just doesn't give a fuck any more.
My assumption about this is as follows:
Japan, while being durp-bombs for the most part, at least trusted kids to be able to hold attention on a show that wasn't constantly giving off "Everything Is Awesome!" vibes and foolish feel-goodery.
Sometimes Ash failed and when he did they didn't have to make him feel better by dedicating a whole episode going to a Poke-Massage (patent pending) and helping a mentally retarded Sandshrew evolve to feel better about himself.
But, kids are fucking dumb and so were we, I guess the bottom line is this IS a kid's show, right? RIGHT?!
And what lvl is Pikachu now? Like a billion?
Hope you like rants!
